Community empowerment and social development
Livelihoods last when the whole community can take part. SACEP Kenya builds the capacity of women, youth, persons living with disabilities and other vulnerable groups — and advocates against harmful cultural practices that hold people back.
What we do
- Capacity building for women, youth and vulnerable groups
- Advocacy against harmful cultural practices, including FGM and gender-based violence (GBV)
- Skills development and community awareness programmes
- Inclusive participation so marginalised groups share in programme benefits
- Community awareness on rights, health and development opportunities
SACEP Kenya's programmes are designed so the people who do most of the work — and face the greatest barriers — gain the most from them. That means deliberately including women, youth and persons living with disabilities in training, leadership and enterprise opportunities.
Advocacy follows the same community-led approach: awareness is raised through local structures and leaders, with respect for culture and a clear stand against practices that harm.
Who we work with
- Women's and youth groups
- Persons living with disabilities and their households
- Community leaders, elders and local structures
- Vulnerable and marginalised households
